French
French was started at Birchwood Grove in February 1993 and is currently taught to all year 6 children. The emphasis is on the spoken word which is taught through such media as games, drama/role play and music. Our aims are to prepare the children for a possible yearly trip to France, to stimulate an interest in learning a foreign language and to give the children a greater European awareness.
